Ships and Space, Part 1f
It was never bright outside on that planet, but the time was early. He made her a breakfast he had pre-ordered, and after a quick conversation, the taxi he ordered arrived. She kissed him on the cheek and waved goodbye. He said his as warmly as he could manage.
He felt vaguely queasy, but of course he wanted to see her again. He went to the bedroom, and found his pipe. He took a draught in, too heavy, and he coughed. He wandered over to the window again.
The haze from the pipe obscured the stars somewhat. And there was always work…
He paused for a moment, then trudged into the computer room.
