The hover car slid through the night sky, like one of a million other light rays. The driver was separated from them by a screen, which left just the two of them together.

I bet you’re very popular with the alien women.

Well, I like to be open. Am I popular with you?

I don’t know. Maybe kiss my hand.

He held her hand and did what she asked; the bands of light rippled and shone. She smiled.

As far as I knew, the light bands on your body didn’t indicate emotion.

She leant in against him.

They don’t, I just wanted you to do that.

Anything else you want me to do?

She screened her eyes with her other hand.

You must think I’m so easy.

No, but I do think you could probably use some fun. I’m up for it. Are you?

She held his gaze.
